据微软官方消息，HOTMAIL已全面支持POP3功能，客户端设置信息如下：
POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@hotmail.com
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587)
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required? Yes
得到消息我第一时间在Microsoft OUTLOOK上进行了验证，接收没有问题，但是不能发送，错误信息如下：“您的服务器不支持此客户端支持的任何验证方式”难道与客户端软件有关，随后在OUTLOOK EXPRESS上进行了验证，正常接收与发送，汗一个，果然是OUTLOOK的问题，随后在官方博客上看到了如下文字：
In addition to POP3, Microsoft offers additional technologies that can provide you with an even richer experience of your e-mail. Try viewing your Hotmail usingWindows Live Mail, Microsoft Office Outlook via theOutlook Connector, orWindows Livefor Windows Mobile phone.
俺英文不好，这句话是不是就是说：“除了POP3之外，微软还另外提供了具有更好体验的收取邮件的方式，你可以通过Windows Live Mail收取Hotmail，通过Outlook Connector在Microsoft Office Outlook 收取邮件，WM手机用户通过Windows Live收阅”。
换句话就是说，在Windows Live Mail、Microsoft Office Outlook 、WM手机用户是无法使用SMTP发送功能的?!
大家可以在更多的平台上测试Hotmail的Pop3功能.
